Bubba a.k.a. Jacob McDougall from Long Beach, CA may be a small 12 year old, but he is making a big splash everywhere he goes. This young performer has been stealing the stage ever since he was three years old singing, dancing, and rapping his original lyrics.

Bubba is not only a talented performer, but also a straight “A” student and a talented athlete in the 7th Grade at St. Athanasius Catholic School in Long Beach. Standing at only 4’8”, he still makes most of the points on his basketball team. Although he is shorter than most of the guys his age, this ambitious kid still aspires to eventually play basketball for the LA Lakers, his favorite team.

Bubba sang “I Believe I Can Fly”, his first solo, at the age of three at his sister’s school talent show. Like tasting candy for the first time, he was hooked to how the audience responded to him. Eventually, when he heard Lil’ Bow Wow perform in the 4th grade, he knew he wanted to be a rapper. Truly inspired, he began to right his own lyrics.

Bubba’s success story is one that is full of fate. In the 4th grade, Bubba entered the LA Housing Authority Talent Contest with his original lyrics. Placing in the contest, he was awarded a scholarship to attend a Dance/Singing/Performance workshop with a Talent Development company called J&J POPSTARZ (JJPZ). A year later, Jonathan George and Jesselee Santos, the two J’s of JJPZ, ended up judging Bubba in the 2nd LA Housing Authority Talent Contest. Although he did not win, he still found favor in J&J’s eyes. Later that winter, J&J were putting a performance together for Ed McMahon and asked Bubba if he could be the guest rapper in the show. Two months later, Feb 2004, he entered a Production Deal with JJPZ.

Without blinking, they hit the recording studio. With three original songs completed, Bubba and JJPZ began preparing for a promo tour. Jonathan George, singer/ songwriter and Grand Champion of Ed McMahon’s “Next Big Star”, produced and co-wrote the tracks and show. Jesselee Santos, choreographer and dancer, who has worked with artists such as Britney Spears, Missy Elliott, Pink, Jessica Simpson, Usher, and Madonna, began choreographing and putting the show on it’s feet. With four dancers, a guest singer, and an entourage of dressers, stagehands, and family, Bubba was ready for the first leg of his promo tour.

During THE first leg of his tour, Bubba stormed the main stage opening for such acts as Kimberly Lock, 70’s disco queen Maxine Nightingale (Night Life), 80’s pop diva Tiffany, Berlin (Take My Breath Away), Easy Money, Macy Gray’s after party, and Ed McMahon. He also was first place overall talent winner in the USA World Showcase at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In his busy schedule, Bubba had a chance to audition for “America’s Most Talented Kids.” Out of 60,000 kids, he was one of the 84 chosen to compete on the show. Performing “B.U.B.B.A”, his first original song, he scored a 9.6 from the judges.

In the mix of Bubba’s hot tracks, you will find deep meanings in the lyrics. He wants to be a positive role model for kids and adults while making them feel good and want to dance. He loves performing for many different groups such as the Carson City Youth Rally and Madonna’s Spirituality for Kids, which are geared towards building self-esteem and self-worth in youth.

Bubba is now finishing five new hot tracks in the studio and is preparing for the 2nd leg of his promo tour. He is also busy taking dace classes at the Millennium Dance Complex as well as privates with Jesselee, vocals with Jonathan, and acting classes.
